Renee Barrieau’s journey to founding THIS Cosmetics is deeply personal—one shaped by resilience, transformation, and a belief that beauty starts with self-care. Growing up, she struggled with acne that made her self-conscious about her skin. But it was during one of the most challenging times of her life—her battle with cancer—that her perspective on skincare truly changed. As cancer treatments took a toll, leaving her skin dry and fragile, she realized the need for products that were not just effective but also gentle and healing.

That experience became the foundation for THIS Cosmetics. More than just a skincare brand, THIS stands for Time, Hope, Inspiration, and Support—the very pillars that carried her through her journey and now serve as the heart of her mission. To Renee, healthy skin isn’t about perfection; it’s about feeling confident in your own skin. She hopes that every woman who uses THIS products is reminded of their own strength and beauty, inside and out.

With a Master’s in Nursing Leadership, Renee has dedicated her career to caring for others, guiding them toward healing, and empowering them to feel their best. Now, through THIS Cosmetics, she continues that mission—helping women nurture their skin with the same compassion and intention that she has always brought to her work.
